• These clubs have met 182 times; Arsenal have won 73, Aston Villa 65, with 44 drawn.
• Villa have already lost 2-1 to Arsenal in the Premier League at Villa Park this term, but won last season's trip to the Emirates Stadium 2-1.
• This is the 10th time these clubs have been drawn to meet in the FA Cup; Arsenal lead by six wins to three, with the most recent in the 1983 quarter-finals.
Arsenal
• Arsenal are the second most successful club in FA Cup history, having won the competition 10 times (one fewer than Manchester United), and been runners-up on seven occasions. In the six seasons since winning the cup in 2006, they have failed to make the fifth round twice.

• The Gunners have won their last three ties in front of the home supporters, and have not lost in 32, since a 1-0 reverse to Leeds in the fourth round in February 1997.
Aston Villa

Interesting Three Weeks Period For The Gunners - By Azana

Thank God the boring two months weeks of international football are finally over. I won’t even talk about the much hyped England v Spain game which the only surprise was the result. The rest even a four year old, who isn’t into football, could predict that Spain has Barca DNA and that England can hit the ball real hard.

There is every reason for any gunner to look forward to this weekend’s fixture. One thing could happen, Chelsea could lose to Liverpool and the gunners win, so that we could be one big happy family at no. 5 tying with 22 points each with spurs and Newcastle tying at 25 points just 3 points away assuming the latter loses to Manchester City.

What’s even  more interesting is the clash between Liverpool and Money city Man city next weekend. United would take Newcastle another interesting fixture. So the best case scenario for this fixture would be a draw for the money bags and Newcastle being hammered. As next weekend passes, it will see Chelsea, Arsenal and Newcastle sharing 25 points each with Liverpool playing a chasing game.

Andrey Arshavin in threat to quit

Andrey Arshavin has dropped a major hint he could quit Arsenal after getting fed-up of being “glued to the bench.”

Russian star Arshavin insists he does not want to leave the Gunners but says he may have to reconsider his future if he does not play more regularly.

Arshavin has been linked with a return to Russia but says his former club Zenit St Petersburg would be the only move he would consider.

“Right now I don’t think about changing clubs. If I will be benched for a very long time, then such an issue might be relevant,” Arshavin told a Russian newspaper.

“I still want to play for 90 minutes, but now I am glued to the bench. I wouldn’t like to play for a Russian club other than Zenit.”

Arshavin has become a regular substitute at the Emirates after falling behind Theo Walcott and Gervinho in the pecking order.
